Alaska Paycheck Calculator

Estimate your take-home pay in Alaska after federal taxes, Social Security, Medicare and state taxes.

About this Alaska paycheck calculator

This is the CalcPaid paycheck calculator with Alaska already selected. Enter how much you earn and how often you are paid, and it estimates your 2026 take-home pay after federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare and Alaska unemployment insurance. Alaska has no state income tax, so the estimate has none to take out.

It runs the same calculation as the US Paycheck Calculator. If you work in a different state, choose it in the calculator above.

Everything is calculated in your browser. Your figures are never sent to a server, written to the address bar or stored. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits, which sees that this page was opened, not what you typed into it. The privacy page has the detail.

What the calculator applies for Alaska

  • Alaska does not tax individuals’ income. Section 43.20.012(a) of the Alaska Statutes says the state’s income tax does not apply to an individual, and the individual income tax Alaska once had was repealed.
  • Alaska unemployment insurance is 0.5% of your wages, charged on the first $54,200 you earn in 2026, so it comes to no more than $271 for the year. Alaska employees pay into the state’s unemployment insurance fund, so the calculator takes it out as well.
  • Which wages it is charged on is an assumption. The calculator charges it on the same wages as Social Security and Medicare: health, dental and vision premiums, FSA and HSA contributions and other pre-tax deductions reduce them, and 401(k) contributions do not. That has not been confirmed against a 2026 Alaska source.
  • Nothing else is added for Alaska. The calculator takes out no Alaska income tax and no city or county income tax.
  • Checked at the source. How the calculator treats Alaska income tax was checked directly against the text of the Alaska Statutes, and the unemployment insurance rate and wage limit against the 2026 rates published by the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

An estimate, not your pay stub

The result is an annualized estimate rather than an exact payroll withholding calculation. Your employer’s payroll system works pay period by pay period, using the withholding forms you filed and your year-to-date pay — information this calculator does not have — so the figure on a given paycheck can fall either side of the one shown here.

Your pay stub is the authority on what was actually withheld, and your tax return is the authority on what you finally owe for the year.
