Privacy
The short version: the figures you type into a calculator never leave your device. The site does use Google Analytics to count visits, and may show ads served by Google, and both of those use cookies. This page says exactly what that means and how to opt out.
Your calculator inputs
Everything you type into a CalcPaid calculator — income, hourly rate, hours, state, filing status, deductions, contributions — is processed entirely by JavaScript running inside your own browser. None of it is transmitted to CalcPaid, to Google or to anyone else. It is not written into the page address, not saved to your device, and not retained after you close or reload the tab.
This is a property of how the site is built. The calculator contains no code that sends your figures anywhere, and the analytics and advertising services described below are never given them: they see which page you opened, not what you entered on it. You can check this in your browser's network tools — no request made while you use a calculator contains the numbers you typed.
Accounts and contact details
CalcPaid has no sign-up, no login, no newsletter and no contact form. We never ask for your name, phone number or any other identifying detail. If you choose to email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply to you.
Analytics
CalcPaid uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how many people visit, which pages they open, how they arrived (for example, from a search or a link), and roughly where they are and what kind of device and browser they use. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to tell one visit from another. It does not tell us who you are, and it does not receive anything you enter into a calculator.
Google processes this information under its own privacy policy, which explains how Google uses data from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits to any website by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Advertising
CalcPaid may display ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some other third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices. If you opt out, you may still see ads, but they will not be based on your browsing.
Other storage on your device
A service worker stores copies of this site's own files — the pages, stylesheets, scripts and tax tables — in your browser's cache, so that a second visit loads without re-downloading them. It contains nothing about you. No figure you enter is written there; it stores one fixed list of files when it installs and never adds to it. Clearing your browser's site data for CalcPaid removes it, along with any cookies described above.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Hostinger and delivered through Cloudflare. Like any website, the servers that deliver these pages may record standard technical request information — the page requested, the time, an IP address, and a browser user-agent string — to operate the site and defend it from abuse. These logs contain none of the figures you enter into a calculator, because those figures are never sent.
Sharing and printing
The Copy, Share and Print actions on a result are all initiated by you and all run locally. Copy places text on your clipboard. Print sends the page to your own print dialog. Share hands the text to your operating system's share sheet, where you choose the destination — CalcPaid does not select one and does not see what you choose. No result is ever encoded into a shareable URL, because a link containing your salary is a link that can be logged, forwarded and indexed.
Children
CalcPaid is a general-audience reference tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA may give you rights over personal data, including to access or delete it and to opt out of its use for targeted advertising. CalcPaid itself keeps no account or profile about you. The analytics and advertising data described above is held by Google; you can control it with the opt-out links above, by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser, or through your Google account. For any other privacy question, email us at the address on the contact page.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the change will be described here with a new date. Whatever else changes, the commitment that your calculator inputs stay on your device will not be quietly dropped.
