Delaware Paycheck Calculator

Estimate your take-home pay in Delaware after federal taxes, Social Security, Medicare and state taxes.

About this Delaware paycheck calculator

This is the CalcPaid paycheck calculator with Delaware already selected. Enter your pay and how often you are paid, and it estimates your 2026 take-home pay after federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare, Delaware income tax and DE Paid Leave.

It runs the same calculation as the US Paycheck Calculator. If you work in a different state, choose it in the calculator above.

Everything is calculated in your browser. Your figures are never sent to a server, written to the address bar or stored. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits, which sees that this page was opened, not what you typed into it. The privacy page has the detail.

What the calculator applies for Delaware

  • Delaware income tax rises in six steps above the first $2,000. The calculator charges nothing on the first $2,000 of Delaware taxable income, 2.2% from $2,000 to $5,000, 3.9% from $5,000 to $10,000, 4.8% from $10,000 to $20,000, 5.2% from $20,000 to $25,000, 5.55% from $25,000 to $60,000 and 6.6% on everything above $60,000. The same schedule applies whatever your filing status.
  • Pre-tax deductions lower your Delaware wages. Health, dental and vision premiums, FSA and HSA contributions, traditional 401(k) contributions and any other pre-tax deduction you enter all come off your pay before Delaware tax is worked out.
  • A standard deduction comes off next. The calculator subtracts a standard deduction of $3,250 if you are single, married filing separately or head of household, and $6,500 if you are married filing jointly, then applies the rates to what is left.
  • A credit comes off the tax itself. After working out the rates, the calculator subtracts a credit of $110 if you are single, married filing separately or head of household, and $220 if you are married filing jointly. The credit lowers the Delaware tax, not the income it is charged on.
  • DE Paid Leave is taken out as well, at the most an employer may deduct. The calculator takes out up to 0.4% of your wages for DE Paid Leave, charged on the first $184,500 you earn in 2026 — the same limit as Social Security — so it comes to no more than $738 for the year. That is the most an employer may deduct: half of the 0.8% contribution, for an employer with 25 or more employees. An employer may deduct less, or nothing. The 0.4% is a ceiling, not a fixed rate: an employer with 10 to 24 employees contributes for parental leave only and so may deduct less, one with fewer than 10 is not covered, and any employer may pay more of the contribution itself. If yours deducts less, your pay is higher than the calculator shows.
  • It is charged on the same wages as Social Security and Medicare. That is what Delaware’s Paid Leave law and the Delaware Department of Labor’s guidance for employers use: health, dental and vision premiums, FSA and HSA contributions and other pre-tax deductions reduce them, and 401(k) contributions do not. Only wages earned in Delaware count; the calculator treats all of the wages you enter as Delaware wages.
  • Wilmington’s city wage tax is added only if you choose it. Wilmington levies a 1.25% city wage tax on residents and on people who work in the city. The calculator’s “City or county” field starts on “No local income tax”. If you choose Wilmington, the calculator charges 1.25% on your Delaware wages after pre-tax deductions, before the standard deduction comes off, and shows it under Wilmington’s name. The field lists no other Delaware city or county and does not take a rate of your own.
  • Nothing else is added for Delaware. The calculator takes out no other Delaware payroll contribution and no other city or county income tax.
  • Not every figure has been confirmed against a 2026 agency document. The rates, the standard deduction and the credit come from reputable secondary sources and have not yet been re-checked against a 2026 Delaware Division of Revenue document. The Wilmington rate has not been re-checked against a 2026 document either. The DE Paid Leave contribution, the half of it an employer may deduct, its wage limit and the wages it is charged on were checked directly against Delaware’s Paid Leave law and the Delaware Department of Labor’s guidance for employers. CalcPaid’s data still records the DE Paid Leave rate as an estimate, because the calculator assumes the most an employer may deduct rather than what your employer actually deducts.

An estimate, not your pay stub

The result is an annualized estimate rather than an exact payroll withholding calculation. Your employer’s payroll system works pay period by pay period, using the withholding forms you filed and your year-to-date pay — information this calculator does not have — so the figure on a given paycheck can fall either side of the one shown here.

Your pay stub is the authority on what was actually withheld, and your tax return is the authority on what you finally owe for the year.
