Kansas Paycheck Calculator

Estimate your take-home pay in Kansas after federal taxes, Social Security, Medicare and state taxes.

About this Kansas paycheck calculator

This is the CalcPaid paycheck calculator with Kansas already selected. Enter your pay and how often you are paid, and it estimates your 2026 take-home pay after federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare and Kansas income tax.

It runs the same calculation as the US Paycheck Calculator. If you work in a different state, choose it in the calculator above.

Everything is calculated in your browser. Your figures are never sent to a server, written to the address bar or stored. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits, which sees that this page was opened, not what you typed into it. The privacy page has the detail.

What the calculator applies for Kansas

  • Kansas income tax has two rates. If you are single, married filing separately or head of household, the calculator charges 5.2% on the first $23,000 of Kansas taxable income and 5.58% on everything above $23,000. If you are married filing jointly, the same rates apply, stepping up at $46,000.
  • Pre-tax deductions lower your Kansas wages. Health, dental and vision premiums, FSA and HSA contributions, traditional 401(k) contributions and any other pre-tax deduction you enter all come off your pay before Kansas tax is worked out.
  • A standard deduction and an exemption come off next. The calculator subtracts a standard deduction of $3,605 if you are single, $8,240 if you are married filing jointly, $4,120 if you are married filing separately and $6,180 if you are head of household. It then subtracts an exemption of $9,160, or $18,320 if you are married filing jointly, and applies the rates to what is left.
  • Nothing else is added for Kansas. The calculator takes out no Kansas payroll contribution and no city or county income tax.
  • These figures have not been confirmed against a 2026 agency document. CalcPaid’s data names the Kansas Department of Revenue and the Tax Foundation as its sources, but records the Kansas figures as not yet confirmed.

An estimate, not your pay stub

The result is an annualized estimate rather than an exact payroll withholding calculation. Your employer’s payroll system works pay period by pay period, using the withholding forms you filed and your year-to-date pay — information this calculator does not have — so the figure on a given paycheck can fall either side of the one shown here.

Your pay stub is the authority on what was actually withheld, and your tax return is the authority on what you finally owe for the year.
