About this Louisiana paycheck calculator
This is the CalcPaid paycheck calculator with Louisiana already selected. Enter your pay and how often you are paid, and it estimates your 2026 take-home pay after federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare and Louisiana income tax.
It runs the same calculation as the US Paycheck Calculator. If you work in a different state, choose it in the calculator above.
Everything is calculated in your browser. Your figures are never sent to a server, written to the address bar or stored. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits, which sees that this page was opened, not what you typed into it. The privacy page has the detail.
What the calculator applies for Louisiana
- Louisiana income tax is a flat 3%. The same rate applies to all of your Louisiana taxable income, whatever your filing status.
- Pre-tax deductions lower your Louisiana wages. Health, dental and vision premiums, FSA and HSA contributions, traditional 401(k) contributions and any other pre-tax deduction you enter all come off your pay before Louisiana tax is worked out.
- A standard deduction comes off next. The calculator subtracts a standard deduction of $12,875 if you are single or married filing separately, or $25,750 if you are married filing jointly or head of household, and applies the 3% to what is left.
- Nothing else is added for Louisiana. The calculator takes out no Louisiana payroll contribution and no city or county income tax.
- These figures have not been confirmed against a 2026 agency document. CalcPaid’s data names a 2026 Louisiana Department of Revenue publication and an emergency rule among its sources for the 3% rate and the standard deductions, but records the Louisiana figures as not yet confirmed. The same source notes that the standard deduction is adjusted for inflation and that the amounts on a final return may differ slightly.
An estimate, not your pay stub
The result is an annualized estimate rather than an exact payroll withholding calculation. Your employer’s payroll system works pay period by pay period, using the withholding forms you filed and your year-to-date pay — information this calculator does not have — so the figure on a given paycheck can fall either side of the one shown here.
Your pay stub is the authority on what was actually withheld, and your tax return is the authority on what you finally owe for the year.
