About this Arkansas paycheck calculator
This is the CalcPaid paycheck calculator with Arkansas already selected. Enter your pay and how often you are paid, and it estimates your 2026 take-home pay after federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare and Arkansas income tax.
It runs the same calculation as the US Paycheck Calculator. If you work in a different state, choose it in the calculator above.
Everything is calculated in your browser. Your figures are never sent to a server, written to the address bar or stored. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits, which sees that this page was opened, not what you typed into it. The privacy page has the detail.
What the calculator applies for Arkansas
- Arkansas uses one schedule up to $94,700 of taxable income and another above it. If your Arkansas taxable income is $94,700 or less, the calculator charges nothing on the first $5,600, 2% from $5,600 to $11,200, 3% from $11,200 to $16,000, 3.4% from $16,000 to $26,400 and 3.7% on everything above $26,400. If it is more than $94,700, the calculator charges 2% on the first $4,700 and 3.7% on everything above $4,700. The same schedules apply whatever your filing status.
- Just above $94,700 a small reduction comes off the tax. If your Arkansas taxable income is more than $94,700 but no more than $97,600, the calculator takes a reduction off the tax worked out on the higher schedule: $290 if your taxable income is no more than $94,800, then $10 less for each further $100 or part of $100, down to $10 between $97,500 and $97,600. Above $97,600 there is no reduction.
- Pre-tax deductions lower your Arkansas wages. Health, dental and vision premiums, FSA and HSA contributions, traditional 401(k) contributions and any other pre-tax deduction you enter all come off your pay before Arkansas tax is worked out.
- A standard deduction comes off your income. The calculator subtracts a standard deduction of $2,470, or $4,940 if you are married filing jointly, and applies the schedules to what is left.
- Then a credit comes off the tax itself. Unlike the standard deduction, which lowers the income the rates are charged on, the credit lowers the tax dollar for dollar: the calculator takes $29 off the Arkansas tax it has worked out, or $58 if you are married filing jointly. It never takes the tax below zero.
- The low-income table is not applied. Arkansas has a separate low-income table for the lowest earners. The calculator does not use it, so at very low incomes the estimate may show slightly more Arkansas tax than you owe.
- Nothing else is added for Arkansas. The calculator takes out no Arkansas payroll contribution and no city or county income tax.
- These figures have not been confirmed against a 2026 agency document. CalcPaid’s data takes the two schedules and the reduction from a Thomson Reuters Checkpoint summary of Arkansas SB 1 of the 2026 First Extraordinary Session, and the $2,470 standard deduction and $29 credit from the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration’s 2026 withholding formula, but records the Arkansas figures as not yet confirmed.
An estimate, not your pay stub
The result is an annualized estimate rather than an exact payroll withholding calculation. Your employer’s payroll system works pay period by pay period, using the withholding forms you filed and your year-to-date pay — information this calculator does not have — so the figure on a given paycheck can fall either side of the one shown here.
Your pay stub is the authority on what was actually withheld, and your tax return is the authority on what you finally owe for the year.
