Utah Paycheck Calculator

Estimate your take-home pay in Utah after federal taxes, Social Security, Medicare and state taxes.

About this Utah paycheck calculator

This is the CalcPaid paycheck calculator with Utah already selected. Enter your pay and how often you are paid, and it estimates your 2026 take-home pay after federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare and Utah income tax.

It runs the same calculation as the US Paycheck Calculator. If you work in a different state, choose it in the calculator above.

Everything is calculated in your browser. Your figures are never sent to a server, written to the address bar or stored. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits, which sees that this page was opened, not what you typed into it. The privacy page has the detail.

What the calculator applies for Utah

  • Utah income tax is a flat 4.45%. The same rate applies to all of your Utah taxable income, whatever your filing status.
  • Pre-tax deductions lower your Utah wages. Health, dental and vision premiums, FSA and HSA contributions, traditional 401(k) contributions and any other pre-tax deduction you enter all come off your pay before Utah tax is worked out.
  • There is no standard deduction. The calculator subtracts no standard deduction or exemption for Utah, so the 4.45% applies to all of your Utah wages after pre-tax deductions.
  • A taxpayer credit comes off the tax itself. After working out the 4.45%, the calculator subtracts a taxpayer credit of $966 if you are single or married filing separately, $1,932 if you are married filing jointly and $1,449 if you are head of household. The credit shrinks by 1.3 cents for every dollar of Utah wages above $17,240 if you are single or married filing separately, $34,480 if you are married filing jointly and $25,860 if you are head of household, until nothing is left of it. It lowers the Utah tax, not the income the tax is charged on, and never takes the tax below zero.
  • Nothing else is added for Utah. The calculator takes out no Utah payroll contribution and no city or county income tax.
  • These figures have not been confirmed against a 2026 agency document. CalcPaid’s data takes the 4.45% rate, for tax years from January 1, 2026, from Utah law as amended in 2026, and names the Utah State Tax Commission among its sources, but records the Utah figures as not yet confirmed. The credit’s phase-out thresholds are recorded as not re-confirmed for 2026.

An estimate, not your pay stub

The result is an annualized estimate rather than an exact payroll withholding calculation. Your employer’s payroll system works pay period by pay period, using the withholding forms you filed and your year-to-date pay — information this calculator does not have — so the figure on a given paycheck can fall either side of the one shown here.

Your pay stub is the authority on what was actually withheld, and your tax return is the authority on what you finally owe for the year.
